Yes, most of those Pokemon have something in common, either they, or members of their evolution lines, are found in Relic Castle.

As mentioned here [link] I'm inclined to believe the Darmanitan line was of some importance to the desert people, just like Volcarona. While I think Volcarona was in a more spiritual way, Darmanitan was probly in the defensive way, they seemed like protectors. So who else would they theme their army uniforms than after a Pokemon they'd consider a protector/guardian? Lol.

Plus I think they have a fire thing going on..desert, Volcarona, Darmanitan, Reshiram..>_> The Fire Nation?!

From right to left..

White Warrior, a knight who suddenly came onto the scene and led the desert army to it's first victory in a long time against the rebellion. White Warrior apparently wears the broken down armor of the old king. He never talks and is considered to have been personally brought into the scene by the queen (Hilda/Touko) due to his partnership with Reshiram during battle.

The Generic Soldier. Every army has them. Note how short White Warrior is next to him.

Darmanitan! The muscle of the army! They don't need much armor because their purpose is simple, trash around and beat the enemy into a pulp!

Scrafty! While we have the slower, but strong Darmanitan, there's also the quick and swift fighting Scraggy! It's "falling pants" problem has been fixed with a belt and claw armor is added to their hands so they can deliver finishing blows quicker!

Krookodile! Because they're harder to train they're not many in the army, so they try to take advantage of the ones they have by "spiking" them up! You don't want to be near one when it swings that massive armored tail around. And their bites don't help much either!

Zebstrika! As I've said, every knight needs a horse! And who better than the common, but reliable, bolting Zebstrika?


I'm still having a hard time deciding the Pokemon for the "Rebellion". They're situated in Undella...
